Carl Radke Views Captain Lee Rosbach As A “Father Figure” For Supporting His Sobriety And Encouraging Him To Pursue Lindsay Hubbard

Is there any Summer House fan who isn’t head over heels in love with Carl Radke? Carlito has been an OG on the show, and watching his transformation from Season 1 has been a treat. Carl first came to the Hamptons as a guy who loved to party and hated commitment (just ask the Wirkus Circus). Over time, he’s grown, with his biggest life change being his road to sobriety that began in 2020. Carl was open and honest about his brother’s battles with addiction, which ultimately lead to his death in 2020. Following the traumatic event, Carl decided to embark on a mental health and wellness journey.

Carl’s transformation warms my heart. He was headed down a path of never wanting to grow up, and that road could’ve gotten dark after the horrible loss of his brother. However, he’s used the experience to grow and be better, which is something we can all admire. Throughout his journey, he’s found an unlikely friend in Below Deck’s one-and-only Captain Lee Rosbach.

Captain Lee knows first-hand the impacts of addiction and mental health struggles, as he also lost his son in 2019 to a fatal overdose. The unlikely pair have leaned on one another for support in recent years, both publically and privately. And during Carl’s Watch What Happens Live appearance alongside his boo Lindsay Hubbard, he revealed that Captain Lee had a hand in his romantic reunion with HubbHouse. Is there anything Lee can’t do?

Andy Cohen asked the couple who was the first person they revealed the news about their relationship, via PeopleCarl gave the shocking answer that he talked to Captain Lee “early on.” Since his brother’s death, Carl and Lee have kept in touch with one another. “He’s been someone I check in with periodically and I’d mentioned that it’s coming up on almost my year of sobriety and Lindsay and I were getting more romantic,” Carl explained.

According to Carlito, Lee “laid the groundwork” to help him gain confidence to pursue Carl & Lindsay 2.0. The Summer House star even referred to the Below Deck captain as a “father figure in a way” due to his support. So I’m not the only one crying, right?

Lee and Carl’s relationship is the purest thing on Bravo and I love that it isn’t just something for the cameras. You can tell that they’re just two guys who have been dealt some tough cards. They seem to genuinely want to help each other navigate life’s challenges while also being in the public eye, and it’s that authenticity that reality TV needs more of.

I’m a fan of Carl and Lindsay pairing up, as it was time for the two of them to settle down with someone in the same headspace. But Lee and Carlito maybe my favorite duo of Bravo. Sorry not sorry.
