This season of Real Housewives of New Jersey started with a bang. Well actually it was a loud whisper from Teresa Giudice, who came in hot to the birthday party Jackie Goldschneider had for her husband, in the premier episode. Four seconds into her entrance, Teresa was asking every cast member if they’d heard that Evan Goldschneider was cheating on Jackie. Dolores Catania, Melissa Gorga, and Margaret Josephs all tried to stop her. But you can’t stop Tre – she’s the Tom Brady of Housewives afterall.
Teresa doesn’t get basic things like analogies. Marge had Teresa and Jackie over to hash out the cheating rumor and it went downhill fast. Jackie asked if Teresa would be upset if she spread rumors about Gia Giudice doing coke. It was totally unnecessary. But Teresa spreading a fake rumor about Jackie’s husband and calling her the c-word, also wasn’t necessary. The fight however was classic RHONJ, and I appreciated it. Jackie has been called out by everyone from Gia to Dorinda Medley, and has no regrets.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jackie reiterated that “she wasn’t even trying to start drama with Teresa.” She also claimed that she, “had no inkling,” Teresa “wouldn’t understand her use of an analogy. But hindsight is 20/20.”
Jackie even doubled down saying, “honest to God… I don’t dumb myself down for conversations with people. It was so clear as day that it was an analogy.”
She continued, sharing if she “really thought that [Teresa] wouldn’t understand that it was an analogy, I would never have said it.”

“I was angry as hell at that moment,” Jackie said. “If [Teresa] had understood that it was just an analogy, we could have continued that conversation on the couch.” Okay, but this is Teresa we’re talking about. Jackie continued, “the fact that that went completely over her head and she heard the name of the family member and just lost her s**t all together?”
For Jackie, Teresa’s reaction “indicates that she thinks her family is much more important than mine, and it was just a disappointing conversation. It was a disappointing start to the season.”

I must disagree here. This season is so not disappointing. But then again, we’re only two episodes deep. Here’s hoping the Jersey ladies don’t let us down.
