Should Teresa Giudice Walk Away From Real Housewives Of New Jersey? Melissa Gorga, Sonja Morgan, & Porsha Williams Weigh In

While Vicki Gunvalson (probably) cried over losing her orange, Real Housewives of New Jersey OG Teresa Giudice feels very differently about being a reality TV star. Recently, the RHONJ cast member admitted that she has “never enjoyed” filming the show.

That’s hard to believe considering that she supports her four daughters filming this show. However, she has really gone through it. She argued with her brother Joe Gorga and sister-in-law Melissa Gorga for many seasons. Teresa denied legal problems for many years before landing in jail herself. Now, she’s waiting to see if her estranged husband Joe Giudice gets deported to Italy. She sure hasn’t had the easiest time, but overall, the show has done a lot for her.

Melissa, Sonja Morgan, and Porsha Williams weighed in on Teresa’s recent remarks in an interview with Us Weekly. Melissa theorized, “I don’t think she enjoyed it just because of the tumultuous things that were going on in her personal life, so she constantly had to tell the world.”

If only she was on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills! Then, Teresa wouldn’t have to reveal anything remotely personal and she could skate around questions about legal problems. Instead, she got hammered reunion after reunion by Andy Cohen.

Melissa acknowledged, “If you aren’t going through what she had to go through, it’s probably a little bit easier.” True. It probably would have been much easier for Teresa if her storylines included recording a pop song, opening a clothing store, and constantly hooking up with her husband.

Porsha explained why her enjoyment wavers depending on what’s going on in her life. She began, “Yeah, it depends on when you ask us. I mean, you have to be honest. You see us go through things on TV that nobody would want to be on national televison for people to see.”

Still, Porsha pointed out that she has benefitted from being on Real Housewives of Atlanta. She added, “Then, also, our businesses flourish. We have a great platform. Me, myself, I get to meet a lot of other mommies and a lot of women, who I feel like are inspired by some of the things that I’ve opened up about. So, it’s kind of bittersweet.”

Sonja remarked, “I also feel, personally, that Teresa has really come far and she seems much more comfortable with herself these days.” The Real Housewives Of New York star also said, “She’s done well getting used to being on camera, being a mom, and handling it all.” She pretty much has no choice though. How else would she provide for her family?

Ultimately, Porsha said, “We all have those rough seasons” and Melissa and Sonja agreed with her in unison.

If Teresa “has never enjoyed” filming the show, should she just walk away? Melissa declared, “No, not at this point because she’s a single, working mother. I would say no, absolutely not. She needs to stay.”

Plus she is the backbone of this show. Yes, Real Housewives of New Jersey is technically an ensemble show, but Teresa is the show. The show paused filming while she served her jail sentence. They even filmed a three-episode special where Teresa only “appeared” via speaker phone when she was in jail. She needs the show and the show needs Teresa.

Porsha added, “I would say she needs to stay.” Sonja pointed out, “And you guys are family. There’s glue there.” Eh, not the strongest glue, as we’ve seen throughout the years, but some glue, nonetheless. Maybe a bargain brand.
