No one can deny that Season 12 of Real Housewives of New York was a tough one for Dorinda Medley. Where was the bubbly, happy Dorinda? That season she was angry and abrasive.
She targeted RHONY co-star Tinsley Mortimer constantly. Dorinda called out Tinsley for not being authentic like all the other Housewives. Tinsley announced that she was leaving the show to move to Chicago to be with Scott Kluth (and we all know how that turned out.)
Dorinda bid Tinsley goodbye with a cruel comment. “I’ve got a turkey baster– maybe try and have a baby,” Dorinda said. That was vile. Their feud continued when Dorinda accused Tinsley of blocking her on Instagram. Tinsley claimed that Dorinda blocked her first. Gasp!
In August of 2020, Dorinda shared that she was leaving RHONY. In an Instagram post, Dorinda wrote, “What a journey this has been. I have laughed and cried and tried to Make it Nice…But all things must come to an end,” she said. Later, Dorinda did the unthinkable and admitted that she was actually fired. Former co-star Elyse Slaine thought that Ramona Singer was responsible for Dorinda losing her job.
Ramona didn’t shed any tears over Dorinda’s exit. Ramona reflected on filming Season 13 without Dorinda. “So even though, she wasn’t there, no one really missed her presence because this show is a machine,” she said. “If I’m not there, I don’t think people will miss it either. Or Luann [de Lesseps] or Leah [McSweeney]. It’s a machine, it just keeps going,” Ramona commented.

Then, Ramona implied that Dorinda had to vacate her New York apartment and live in the Berkshires. It was alleged that Dorinda lived rent-free in the apartment in return for promoting it on RHONY. Dorinda’s representative, Steve Honig, clapped back. “She moved out while having it fully renovated,” he said. “She continues to live in her apartment on the Upper East Side and spend her weekends at Blue Stone Manor.” Clip!
Andy Cohen made it clear that he hopes that Dorinda returns to RHONY someday. “I am really hopeful that this is indeed a pause, and that she will rejoin the show at some point,” Andy said in September of 2020. Me, too! I live for the girls’ Christmas trip to the Berserkshires.
Dorinda recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live to catch up with Andy and discuss her book. Of course, Andy had some shady questions for her. “Dorinda, you always keep a full schedule what with all the decorating, cooking, and making it nice and writing a book,” Andy said. “But what else is taking up the mostess of the hostess’ time these days? Let’s catch up with, “What Are You Doing Here… With Dorinda?”
Andy asked, “Which Housewives are you in the most touch with these days?” Dorinda replied, “All of them except one. Can you guess who that is?” Andy responded, “Ramona?” Dorinda said, “Yes.” Is anyone surprised that Dorinda is no longer in contact with the Singer Stinger?
