Mercedes “MJ” Javid lost one job but it doesn’t mean she won’t get back on her feet. Anyone who watched Shahs of Sunset knows real estate played an important role in the show. Several of the cast dabbled in the real estate business. MJ and co-star Reza Farahan even shared an office at one point.
That didn’t work out because Reza and MJ had some pretty volatile hiccups in their friendship. Shahs went downhill amid a flood of personal problems and relationship issues amongst the cast. It was axed after 9 seasons in 2021.
Over time we saw MJ go from a drunken party diva to a married mom with a semblance of a moral compass. Times change and people evolve. Now MJ is ready to get serious about her career and made a big leap.
According to Bravo TV, MJ jumped right into Mauricio Umansky’s company The Agency. You know, the place on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards’ baseball cap. And leggings. T-shirts. Several mugs. Kind of surprised it isn’t in neon in her living room. Anyway, MJ will now have her own collection of The Agency swag.
Mercedes shared the fabulous news on Instagram. “It is with great excitement and pride that I get to announce my new home with [The Agency]. I am so grateful for [Emil Hartoonian] who is an incredible industry leader. Stay tuned!”

MJ’s bio on the company website states, “A consistent top producer with decades of industry experience and a lifetime’s worth of expertise in the Los Angeles market.” She can also drink you under the table, but that little tidbit was not included.
The announcement said, “Mercedes Javid brings negotiation savvy, attention to detail, and concierge-style service to The Agency. Working from the Calabasas office, she primarily serves clients on the Westside.” The Westside considers itself warned. As an added bonus, MJ’s office is super close to her own neighborhood.
“We picked up from the Hollywood Hills, said ‘bye-bye,’ moved to the suburb.” We don’t know if Vida Javid is aware of her daughter’s new address at this time. MJ also offers a tour of her new Calabasas abode. She added, “It was on my vision board, by the way: ‘When I get married and have children, I am moving to Calabasas.’” Dreams really do come true, kids!
After revealing the big news, MJ received messages of support from her husband Tommy Feight and Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Melissa Gorga. MJ might be the only Bravolebrity still speaking to Melissa.
Even Big Daddy Andy Cohen popped in to offer his praise, “This is fantastic. Congratulations!!!” Now The Agency is filled with Bravo insiders! Recently Kim Richards’ daughter Whitney Davis joined the Aspen office. Kyle and Mauricio’s daughters work there to keep an eye on Mauricio along with Mauricio’s sister and father.
There’s been no announcement regarding Buying Beverly Hills Season 2 but watching MJ navigate an environment where she would be required to, you know, work would definitely be interesting. Congrats to MJ and best of luck!
