Andy Cohen Shades Real Housewives For Renting; Names His Favorite Housewives Homes

When it comes to real estate, the Real Housewives have given fans a vast array of both gorgeous McMansions.

Recently, Andy Cohen threw some subtle shade about Housewives who rent their real estate. He also opened up about which ‘Wives’ homes are his personal favorites.

“I don’t understand the concept of renting at all,” the Bravo boss told Forbes. “It’s just throwing money away. Especially a huge home. I don’t get it.”

The shade wasn’t overtly directed at any particular Housewife. Still, numerous women across virtually every city in the franchise have rented over the years. Dorit Kemsley and her husband PK Kemsley rented their grandiose, nearly 9000-square-foot home in Beverly Hills.  They recently moved to a new $6 million mansion in Encino. Down the street from Kyle Richards‘ new pad, the Kemsleys’ latest property is supposedly also rented.

Over on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Shannon Beador moved into a measly 4000-square-foot Newport Beach rental in Season 13 following her split from husband David Beador.

And who could forget the confusing drama surrounding Eva Marcille‘s rental situation on The Real Housewives of Atlanta last season? Between accusations from one of her bridesmaids that she was staging a house for filming purposes and her baffling off-camera explanation to Nene Leakes about rotating between three houses, renting under aliases and the FBI getting involved, the truth about Eva the Diva’s living situation remains perplexing at best.

However, Andy did make one exception to his no-rentals rule. “I guess I can understand renting a little pied-á-terre in the city,” he clarified, likely referencing Real Housewives of New York City star Tinsley Mortimer. (The socialite came under fire at the Season 11 reunion for living at The Marmara Park Avenue Hotel. Her cast mates accused her of not really living in New York.)

When it came to his favorite homes across the franchise, Andy named Bethenny Frankel‘s NYC apartment and cozy home in the Hamptons (no surprise there), as well as Luann de Lesseps‘ serene Sag Harbor abode. As for a property on the West Coast, he selected Teddi Mellencamp‘s ultra-modern compound in the Hollywood Hills.
