Vanderpump Rules Star Tom Schwartz Refers To Katie Maloney As A “Monster” Who Always “Cried Wolf” During Their Marriage

Vanderpump Rules Season 10 is all about realizing things. The fandom has collectively realized that Tom Sandoval is the No. 1 worst guy in the group once his affair with Raquel Leviss became public. We’ve learned that Tom Schwartz is incapable of being a thoughtful husband, even though he always finds a way to charm himself out of looking like the bad guy. Most importantly, we’ve realized that Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney are so much better off without the Toms in their lives. It’s going to take a lot of healing, but it’s ultimately for the best.

The most recent VPR episode exemplified why Katie and Schwartz got divorced. He has such disdain for Katie that it’s unnatural, especially toward someone that you are married to. That’s not to say Katie’s behavior has been perfect by a long shot. Tequila Katie has a track record of her own. But Schwartz’s two-faced nature of being the lovable doofus who treats his wife like garbage is arguably much darker. Need a prime example? Look at his latest appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

Who knows why Schwartz thought it’d be a good idea to go on WWHL and word vomit about the #Scandoval of it all, but my messy self is glad he did. Schwartz spent much of his time on the late-night show trying to make excuses for Sandoval. But are we surprised? He also made some pretty gross comments about Katie which, unfortunately, also isn’t shocking. According to Us Weekly, Schwartz spent some time reflecting on his reasoning for never defending the woman he spent a decade plus with. As you might expect, it makes little to no sense.

Schwartz basically tried to blame Katie for, god forbid, wanting her husband to have her back. “Early on in our relationship, she abused [the request to defend her] a little bit,” Schwartz said. He rehashed the Tequila Katie days and felt like Katie wanted gratification for her bad behavior. Again, how dare Katie ask for a bit of loyalty. Then, Schwartz got really gross when talking about his ex-wife.

“She’s way better now. Katie, I love you but in the beginning, she was kind of a monster,” Schwartz said. “I became a little numb when she actually did need me it’s like the boy who cried wolf.” A monster? Katie, the woman you cheated on, belittled, dumped a drink on, etc. was the monster in this relationship? Maybe Schwartzy needs to do his own Pump Rules rewatch for a history lesson.

Katie obviously caught wind of her ex-husband’s foul comments on national TV. Her statement echoed the sadness she expressed during the latest episode in Mexico. “I was called a monster too many times to count… tonight’s #wwhl didn’t phase me. Sadly,” Katie tweeted. Ugh. Seriously, thank the Bravo Gods that Katie finally came to her senses and divorced this man. It’s time for a much more feminine-focused chapter in both her and Ariana’s lives.
