The trailer for Vanderpump Rules Season 8 dropped last week and it looked good. Season 7 wasn’t the best since most of the cast got along and they’ve all settled down with serious relationships. We needed more and it looks like Season 8 will deliver.
Anyone who has followed the news in between seasons knows that there are some feuds brewing in Season 8. With that said, we already knew about Jax Taylor’s fall out with Tom Sandoval, although the exact cause is still unclear. The same can be said for Stassi Schroeder and Katie Maloney’s highly-publicized issues with Kristen Doute. Neither of those plot points was a “surprise” to anyone who saw the trailer, but the dramatic music along with those flashback clips paired with the Lisa Vanderpump narration got me hyped. And so did the new cast members. It’s comeback season Pump Rules. After many viewers yawned throughout last season, they’ve brought in some reinforcements. Let’s meet the new people.
These two don’t count as “new” people, but significant others Raquel Leviss and Beau Clark have risen in the ranks to official cast member status, complete with promotional photoshoots and more on-camera interviews. Good for them. Beau is hilarious and Raquel… has provided us with some meme-worthy moments and outfits.
There are actually some new additions though. Dayna Kathan has been a rumored cast member for a while, especially after that photo Ariana Madix and Lala Kent posted with her over the summer. A few months ago there was gossip that she was feuding with Jax and Brittany Cartwright. There’s no mention of that in her cast member bio, but she is a SUR waitress, of course. Lisa knows what she’s doing. She needs to bring the restaurant back into the forefront now that none of the OGs actually work there. It sounds like Dayna gets into a love triangle with Scheana Marie and the TomTom general manager Max Boyens. She also has a romantic interest in SURver Brett Caprioni for additional camera time.

Brett is one of the few Pump Rules additions that Jax likes. That is not in his cast member bio, but Jax did mention that recently. Just like Max, Brett catches Scheana’s eye. And, of course, she tries to pull this Adam Spott-reminiscent “best friend” shit again. No one believes that, Scheana. But that’s OK. We need single Scheana in this cast. We cannot be entertained by proposals and TV weddings alone. Keep doing your thing, Scheana. Scheana isn’t Brett’s only love interest this season. He’s into Dayna, who has hooked up with Max. There is a love octagon forming. I can feel it already.
