Erika Jayne Tom Girardi RHOBH Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills-4

Tom Girardi’s Law Firm Approved For $1.5 Million PPP Loan 5 Months Before Tom Confessed To Being Broke

Unfortunately it seems the already tainted name of Tom Girardi is about to get dirtier. Erika Jayne’s estranged husband is, to put it simply, done. He no longer has a career, enough money to buy Taco Bell, or a home to live in. It’s a damn good thing Erika has the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills paycheck or we might be forced to listen to her cover Scheana Shay’s hit record, Good As Gold in an effort to make some quick cashola.

Tom has nothing left due to bad business OR the theory he stole from needy clients to pay for Erika’s collection of named wigs put in place as substitutions for actual human beings who want to be around her. Fake friends are expensive, okay? Tom’s issue with paying people isn’t new and creditors have been coming after him for years, including his business partners at Girardi Keese. Now we find out Tom’s law firm was approved for a government-funded PPP loan only 5 months before blowing through all of his cash.

The Paycheck Protection Program loans were designed to provide an incentive for small businesses to pay their staff. PPP loans can be used to help fund payroll costs, but may also be used to supplement mortgage, rent, utilities, or worker protection costs related to COVID-19.

As the saga of Tom’s downfall continues, the recent discovery of Tom’s firm being approved for a $1.5 million PPP loan amid his fraudulent activity is not the kind of news that will warm the hearts of those hell-bent on seeing justice for widows and orphans. According to Us Weekly, Girardi Keese was sanctioned a $1.5 million loan on April 15, 2020. The money was allotted to pay the firm’s 84 employees, but no one seems to know if the firm received the money or if it indeed went to Girardi Keese workers.

In Hulu’s smash hit, The Housewife and the Hustler, Tom was shown admitting he was broke as a joke during a deposition five months after GK applied for the PPP loan. Tom said, “At one point I had about $80 million or $50 million in cash. That’s all gone. I also had a stock portfolio of about $50 million, and that’s all gone.” Since then, Tom has been hit with quite a few lawsuits alleging he and Erika embezzled money intended for the family members of the victims in the horrible Lion Air Flight 610 crash.

Jay Edelson of Edelson PC claims Tom and EJ’s “divorce” was “a sham attempt to fraudulently protect Tom and Erika’s money”. Jay is representing clients of the plane crash PRO BONO because apparently decent people exist, and wants to prove Tom and Erika used funds from settlements with Boeing “to pay off litigation financing firms and to continue paying for an ‘outrageous lifestyle’ that included private jets, multiple homes and a $250,000 Lamborghini”. Fun Fact: Jay already recovered over $15 million for Tom’s former clients. He said, “We are not taking a penny of that.” GO JAY, GO!

Jay is in it to win it because he has nothing to lose. Tom has already lost everything and has to wait for his brother to give him the Netflix password. And Erika has lost her cash cow, Lambo, and any remaining shred of dignity. Sadly, it appears the PPP Loan wasn’t able to save Girardi Keese, and nothing at this point will be able to save Tom.
