Vanderpump Rules star Lisa Vanderpump has been dealing with some highs and lows lately. On the negative side, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum was thrown from a horse in January of 2022. Lisa underwent surgery because she fractured her leg in four places and bruised her back.
On the positive side? Lisa and her husband Ken Todd’s daughter, Pandora Vanderpump Sabo, gave birth to a baby boy in November of 2021. That’s right–Lisa is now a grandmother, or as she prefers to be called, Nanny Pinky. Ken and Lisa also opened a new restaurant in Las Vegas called Vanderpump à Paris.
Lisa has always served as a mother figure for the Pump Rules crew. Lisa was particularly fond of Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz. In fact, she served as the officiant of their Northern California wedding in August of 2016. I must say that I loved the enchanted forest nuptials.
An issue with the paperwork resulted in the union not being legal. Hilariously, Katie blamed Lisa for not filling out the forms properly. The duo wed once again in July of 2019 in Las Vegas while the VPR cameras rolled.
Sadly, the couple announced their breakup in March of 2022. Tom took all of the blame for their failed marriage. Katie felt that too often, Tom didn’t back her up. Witness all of Season 9 of Pump Rules as an excellent example. Tom refused to stand up for his wife during her clashes with Tom’s partner, and bestie, Tom Sandoval. On March 22, 2022, Katie filed for divorce.
Now Lisa is weighing in on Tom and Katie’s split. Lisa told Page Six, “Obviously, I’m very invested in them as a couple so it was heartbreaking to hear. I’m very close to them,” she added. Lisa called both Bubbas when she heard that they were having marital issues.
While officiating their first wedding, Lisa told the couple, “When I say you deserve each other, I mean that in the best way possible. You’re both lovely, lovely people.”

Lisa believes that the couple is simply meant to be. “Let’s hold our breath and see what happens with them,” Lisa stated. “I would love to see Tom and Katie get back together.” Lisa knows that marriage can be tough. “I’ve been married for 39 years and it’s not a picnic. It’s hard work. But I do think there’s hope for those two,” the restaurateur remarked.
As for a potential Season 10 of Vanderpump Rules? Lisa feels there is plenty of material to explore. Lala Kent broke off her relationship with Randall Emmett because he allegedly cheated on her. James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss broke off their engagement, which figured prominently in Season 9 of VPR. And Scheana Shay is getting ready to say “I Do” to controversy magnet (and newbie) Brock Davies.
“There are a lot of stories still to tell among the kids, especially right now because the dynamic has changed so much and people are so invested in them,” Lisa told Page Six. “I don’t think they’ve told all the congregated stories in Vanderpump Rules yet.” Lisa added that fans will learn about plans for the next chapter of the show “soon.”
