Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Producer Says Lisa Vanderpump Leaked “PuppyGate” Story To The Press

The saga of the dog named Lucy Lucy Apple Juice dominated Season 9 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Dorit Kemsley and her husband, PK Kemsley, adopted a dog from Lisa Vanderpump’s rescue organization, Vanderpump Dogs. RHOBH star Dorit claimed that Lucy nipped PK and their children, so she “rehomed” Lucy.

But Lucy landed in a kill shelter, and thanks to her microchip, ended up back at Vanderpump Dogs. Dorit violated the adoption contract, which called for dogs to be returned directly to the organization or pay a $5,000 fee. If Dorit had read the contract, RHOBH viewers would have been spared this scandal. And of course, Dorit and PK never coughed up the fee.

Teddi Mellencamp stated that LVP instructed John Sessa and John Blizzard, who were employees at Vanderpump Dogs, to give Teddi the information about Dorit. Later on, when the story about Dorit’s doggy mess leaked to the press, Dorit was sure that LVP, or a close associate, planted the article. The fashion designer stated, “You have to look at the article and see who it benefits and then put two and two together. It feels like you’re stabbed in the heart 10 times,” Dorit added.

LVP was ganged up on by the rest of the RHOBH cast. She even took a lie detector test to prove that she didn’t give the story to the press. She passed.

Longtime friend Kyle Richards went to Villa Rosa to confront LVP. LVP denied leaking the story. When Kyle didn’t believe her, Lisa’s husband, Ken Todd, ordered her out of Villa Rosa. No more swans and mini ponies for Kyle!

LVP also terminated her friendship with PK and Dorit. Dorit doubted LVP’s innocence. Shortly afterward, the restaurateur stopped filming Season 9. She skipped the reunion, angering many of her co-stars. Then she quit the franchise.

According to Page Six, RHOBH executive producer Chris Cullen claimed that LVP did leak the “puppygate” story to the press. In a new book, Not All Diamonds and Rose: The Inside Story of The Real Housewives From the People Who Lived It, Chris spilled the tea to author Dave Quinn.

Chris explained, “When Lisa lost the narrative in the show, and she realized that it wasn’t going the way she wanted, that’s when she leaked the story to the press.” Somewhere, Lisa Rinna and Kyle are doing a victory dance.

Another executive producer, and Evolution Media President, Alex Baskin alleged that LVP requested that another producer “sit the cast down and tell them they needed to believe her [about not leaking the story.]” Alex declined her request for the sit-down. Wow.

The friendship between Kyle and LVP is dunzo. In fact, they were recently taking shots at each other again in the press. LVP asserted that Kyle spread the rumor about RHOBH co-star Erika Jayne’s estranged husband Tom Girardi’s financial woes. Kyle supposedly gossiped about Erika and Tom at Andy Cohen’s 2019 baby shower according to franchise alum Camille Grammer.

Kyle vehemently denied spreading the rumor. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Kyle said of LVP, “But one could argue perhaps that maybe her memory is fading along with her relevance because she wasn’t even at the baby shower.” Oof.

LVP took another swipe at Kyle. She retweeted a fan’s comment. The fan tweeted, “Doesn’t the saying go that people who are good liars use jokes to deflect? Good job Kyle, we believe you did start the rumors just like @TheRealCamilleG said,” the follower posted. “It’s Kyle’s MO.”

Will this revelation finally spell the end of this puppy tale? (Pun intended.) I  sure hope so!
