Vanderpump Rules is almost completely unrecognizable from its early seasons, which is somewhat of a disappointment. But people change and evolve, I get it. But the good old days when Stassi Schroeder was slapping Kristen Doute or bullying Scheana Shay were just good as gold. Everyone was young, dumb, and prone to bad decision-making.
They had little else to lose — working at SUR was just the means to an end for these wannabe celebrities to make it in Hollywood. Now everyone and their mother (literally) is coupled up, grown up and many have babies of their own. Only two cast members in the current season work at SUR and half of the OGs got fired. It’s an entirely new Pump Rules. The only thing that’s the same is Lisa Vanderpump’s lavish lifestyle.
I love living in the old VPR days, so I was thrilled with Ariana Madix recently spoke about the infamous Miami Girl incident for the 500th time. I’ll never get over it, and clearly neither with the Pumpers. Ariana told Us Weekly that while she doesn’t have many regrets about the situation, she wished she would’ve confronted the girl who Tom Sandoval allegedly slept with in Miami when she showed up on the show to cause trouble (and get her 15 minutes of fame). If you remember, she and Tom fled once Kristen (in stalker mode) brought the girl to SUR. What chaos.
Tom and Ariana returned to the restaurant when LVP called them back, as Ariana says they were just chilling in the bar next door. “I almost wish I didn’t [leave],” Ariana said. “The reason why we left is because we felt like production was pulling this whole thing. We were like, ‘Oh, so random people just show up now.” Ari wishes she called out the nonsense on camera, as she’s remained ride-or-die to Tom throughout the whole debacle.
Ariana says she wishes she would’ve got to the bottom of why Miami Girl was spreading such accusations. “If I would’ve dragged that girl back in there and up to Jax [Taylor]’s face and said, ‘What was the catalyst for you selling a story? Like, what was that?’ Then I [could have gotten] him to say, ‘Well, yeah, I had her laptop,” Ariana said. I would’ve lived for that.
Ariana has clearly gained a lot of confidence through VPR, and isn’t afraid to go toes with Lala Kent or anyone else who messes with her. But in the early days, she was finding her footing and didn’t have the Charli Burnett balls to go up to Jax and call him out (yet). But look who got the last laugh? Ariana and Tom are thriving and still employed. While Jax, Kristen and Miami Girl (not confirmed) are scrambling for their next attempts to become relevant again.

TELL US – WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ARIANA’S TAKE ON THE MIAMI GIRL SITUATION? DO YOU AGREE SHE SHOULD’VE CONFRONTED THE GIRL INSTEAD OF RUNNING OUT OF SUR?
